Wonderland Trail Conditions

Check out this video shot less than a couple weeks back that illustrate the conditions on the Wonderland Trail this year.  The snow is high this year, so high that it is causing some doubt in hikers as to whether it can even be hiked.  But Steve Burgess has put together this amazing piece of work not only to show how the trail looks but also filled with tips on what to do differently if you are thinking of hiking it this year.  What to expect and where to expect it.  A must see for all Wonderland Trail hikers this year.  Thanks Steve!!

Nice vid Steve! Very interesting, I’ve never hiked to the top of a gap before, hiked to the bottom of one. 😉

WOW!!! Thanks Steve for that video, I am so anxious to get out that way and climb some real mountains. Even causal hikes like the Wonderland Trail (if the panhandle gap trail is not a casual hike, you sure made it look nice and easy).

This video was not only BEAUTIFUL but also inspiring. It gave me more confidence to hike above the treeline range. I hike mostly down in the smokies in TN, NC, GA, but this video showed me that given the right conditions and timing, upper elevation hiking can be done with ease.
