Re-threading a Stuff Sack

Did you accidentally pull out the string in your stuff sack?  It can be frustrating to try to get the string back through.  We here have used a number of techniques but this one here is the quickest we have seen.  Take a safety pin and stick it through your string.  Close the safety pin and push it through the slot.  When you are through the slot go ahead and tie off or put your cord lock on.

I usually tie it to the safety pin, pinning it is a good idea.

Recently, I’ve switched to taping the cord to a bamboo skewer and using that to push it through. Push the skewer and let the cord trail along. Works fine at home, though the safety pin method is worth knowing for the trail.

Sometimes you get a little rod to stir up when buying a coffee or cappuccino at a kiosk. You can easily use such a rod to get the string back to through. Just put the string through the little hole in the rod and use the same procedure as described above. If there isn’t any hole, drill one yourself 🙂

And of course, you can still use that rod to stir up your drink 🙂
