ultralight fishing

It's just an empty Tic Tac box with a small foam pad inside. The foam holds the lures. My favorite for mountain trout is a small Panther Martin and a small Super Duper. Flies or your favorites can be added. The outside of the box is wrapped with 50 feet of 6 lb. mono-filament line. To cast the lure, simply pull out about 5 or 6 feet of line, hold the top of the box (the flip top lid area with no wrapped line on it) in your left hand (assuming you're right handed) between thumb and forefinger, pinch the line about 4 feet from the box between thumb and finger of your right hand, hold the box toward the lake or stream so the line can freely peel off, and toss the lure in a swinging motion. Some folks prefer to swing the lure around a couple of times and then release. There should be an additional 3 or so feet of line from the lure to your throwing hand. With a little practice you can out fish the guy with the $1,000.00 set up. I've fed a whole boyscout troop in the Sierras.
