olympic hiker hiking olympic break time

We just came off an incredible trip through our back yard of the Olympic National Park. A 12 day trip of two high alpine traverses. A Bailey Range traverse and Skyline trail back to back. Sept 9th to the 20th. There were 4 of us, 2 carrying the Gorilla pack and 2 carrying the trekking poles by Gossamer. The packs were definitely the winners of the trip. The trip involved a lot of off trail bushwacking and steep side hilling on really unstable surfaces. I love the Gorilla pack which I call my Koala since it stays put on my back when I am teetering on the precipice. We each started the trip with 37-40lbs including expedition sized bear cans… which actually fit! The Gorilla took the weight really well.
