Martin Rye is a United Kingdom based backpacker and outdoor blogger. Martin got into hiking as a child, and seeing backpackers setting out on the Pennine Way fired up his imagination and desire to one day walk it himself. He did, and have done many long walks in the United Kingdom since, from crossing Scotland coast-to coast, to walking all the 4000ft UK Mountains in one journey.
Going light is a natural progression. From day one Martin learnt what he did not need, and carried on learning. You take less as your skills grow.
For him, light loads allow focus on the views and trail ahead and not on aching shoulders and sore feet. Lighten up and go explore his my advice.

I want to hike in Iceland, Sweden and go back to the Whites in the USA, as well as visit the west coast. There is always something to plan to do.
