In 2011 Allison set a goal to hike the 48 4000-footers in New Hampshire over the next three years. In that time Allison has hiked this list four times (once in each season) as well as the highest peaks in New England. Allison is not ashamed of her obsessive peakbagging ways and started Northeast Peak Baggers, a meetup group, to share the hiking bug with others.
In 2014 Allison thru hiked California's John Muir Trail and has plans for other longish distance trails. Allison loves solo hiking. Whether it's the notorious Presidential Traverse or a longer adventure, you'll catch her going fast and light! Allison hopes she can inspire others to get on the trail. She believes that lightweight hiking is an avenue anyone can take to make the most of any hike.
Home: Amesbury, MA
Website: Trail to Summit: Peakbagging in New EnglandOutdoor Organization Involvement: Founding Organizer, Northeast Peak Baggers Meetup | Trail Maintenance Volunteer, Appalachian Mountain ClubFavorite Training Ground: I feel lucky to be able to spend so much time hiking New Hampshire's White Mountains. I like my mountains straightforward- no switchbacks!
Favorite Pack: I love everything about my Type 2! It has enough storage options for everything I need for a day-weekend trip and is ideal for going fast and light.
I Never Hit the Trail Without: My camera, Injinji toe socks, and some gaiters. During the summer I don Dirty Girl Gaiters and when the snow hits I switch to taller ones made by Eastern Mountain Sports. Happy feet make a happy hiker!
